Prescribed Burn scheduled for St. Johns Marsh Wildlife Area
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment will be conducting a prescribed ecological burn this month at St. Johns Marsh Wildlife Area. The burn will rejuvenate fertility and remove above-ground remnants of the invasive grass, phragmites australis, from the marsh that was treated with herbicide last summer, according to MDNRE Wildlife Division.
